The HIV Commission provides advice and makes recommendations to the County of Santa Clara regarding HIV issues and serves as the Ryan White Planning Body as required by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act. The Commission determines the priority of HIV service needs of the community and allocates funds to each service. Members of the Commission are appointed by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and include persons who are living with or affected by HIV and persons who have expertise in the field of HIV.
The mission of the Santa Clara County HIV Commission is to ensure a stigma-free, compassionate, and comprehensive system of HIV prevention and care services to all people living in Santa Clara County.
